In our nation…

…when a person sees distress, that person says something should be done to fix that. What they mean is that somebody else should do the fixing. They shout at the top of their lungs until others pay attention and then they collectively shout “Somebody other than me should fix this!” Then our political leaders hear the cries of their people and become stricken with fear that they may not get re-elected and they join the chorus that somebody else should fix this.

And so they call upon the soldiers, marines, airmen and sailors and say “hey, go fix that.” And so we go. And we fight for the freedom of others. We fight so that people in a foreign land might have the peace, liberty and freedom that we have in the USA.

But back at home, while we fight for others, the politicians strive to remove the freedoms we already have and that we are trying to give to people in a foreign land. They talk with twisted tongues and give candy to the masses in exchange for their freedom. And soldiers abroad continue to fight, but deep inside they wonder what are we fighting for? What will we be coming home to?
